Get out those recipe boxes…

Now that the holiday season is right on our heels, it’s time to get the recipe boxes out of the cabinet, dust them off, and decide what you’re going to be making for the 37 parties you have to go to. Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite appetizer recipes that have gotten good responses from family and friends. Just remember, if you make a good appetizer, you’re going to be on the hook to bring it for years to come (but it’s always good to see people enjoying what you bring, right?).

Speaking of recipe boxes, have you ever tried TasteBook ( It’s a GREAT website where you can store all of your receipes online — you can also upload a personal photo of the dish and share it with friends, family or the TasteBook community.

If you try any of the recipes, let me know if you brought home an empty dish!

I’m loving the blog, dude. Have you heard of the TheRecipeManager? It’s a $30 program that organizes all of your recipes by multiple categories: ingredients; region; appetizer vs. entree. You can even cut and paste recipes you find online. The interface is a bit weak, but it’s super helpful!

Great blog! Be careful putting your recipes on a website like tastebook. Make sure you read the fine print. Often times your recipes become their intellectual property and they can sell your recipes or incorporate them into cook books. Just something to think about in case you ever think of writing your own cook book someday. Make sure you hit up some restaurants in Annapolis and Bmore too!
